Clean, dry scrap wood is received in a covered load bay and ground immediately in a 2-step process. Wood meal is segregated in overhead bins by type and source. Batches are weighed out and moisture checked. A non-toxic lubricant is added to enhance pelleting. The batch is thoroughly mixed and transferred to overhead bins for pelleting. The wood is pressed through dies with small holes to form pellets. Friction heats the lignins in the wood which act as a natural binder, holding the pellet together. Pellets are then cooled and sent through a screener to remove fines before being stored in overhead bins for bagging. Before the pellets are bagged, they are screened again just before bagging to remove fines created while handling.
