Horizon Biofuels Premium Fuel Pellets

HBI fuel pellets providing comfort heat.

Quality is closely monitored at every stage of production to ensure you get a clean, hot, problem free burn when using our product.

Grinding - Clean, dry wood is received in our grind building where it is ground into a meal in a 2-step process before stored in overhead bins by type and source.

Pelleting - Wood meal is weighed out, mixed thoroughly and moisture checked before pelleting. In the pelleting process, wood is pressed through dies with 1/4" holes. Friction heats the lignins in the wood which act as a natural binder holding the pellet together. Pellets are then cooled and screened to remove fines before stored in overhead bins for bagging.

Bagging - Before pellets are bagged, they are screened a second time to ensure clean, quality product.  Pellets are heat sealed in 40 lb poly bags then stacked 50 to a pallet for 1 ton of pellets.  Each pallet is sealed with a 4 mil heat shrink cover with UV protection to keep pellets dry should you or your supply store them outdoors.
